Mandatory equipment

All runners of the JIMBEE VOLCANO ULTRAMARATHON, without exception, must make sure to bring the following equipment in order to be able to participate. It will be checked by the organization before the start of the race. There could also be random equipment checking at any point along the course. Not carrying any of these items will result in the immediate disqualification from the race.

  • Suitable clothing for the chosen version
  • Backpack with at least 6l capacity (or more)
  • Water bladder(s) or bottle(s) of at least 1.5 liters
  • 2000 kilocalories minimum
  • Windbreaker
  • Headlamp (+ spare battery for Ultra and Relay)
  • Back red light
  • Emergency thermal blanket 160×160 minimum
  • Cell phone with full battery
  • Identify gels, bars, etc. with the bib number
  • DROP BAG (ULTRA VERSION ONLY)

The organization will provide the runners of the ULTRA version with a drop bag, which will be delivered to the organization with the required equipment 30 minutes before the start. The runner will have access to it again at the Life Point 1 – Aid Station 5 (km 55,32). Its maximum weight will be 6 kg or until its maximum capacity is filled. Only the bags delivered by the organization that are already identified with the race bib number will be accepted. It is not mandatory to have this bag, but it is recommended, since you will have everything you need to face the second part of the race:

  • Change of clothes.
  • Food selected by the runner.
  • Any need that the athlete deems necessary.
  • CLOAKROOM SERVICE (ULTRA, RELAY AND MARATHON)

The ULTRA, RELAY and MARATHON distances will have a cloackroom service with a single bag that the organization will deliver at the bib pick-up. This bag can be delivered to the organization up to 30 minutes before the start of the corresponding version and the runner will have it at his/her arrival at the finish line. This bag is intended for the needs of change of clothes once the race is over for runners starting from Cabo de Palos. Only the bags delivered by the organization that are already identified with the race bib number will be accepted. It is not mandatory to have this bag, but it is highly recommended.

*The kit for adverse weather may be required by the organization, depending on weather conditions. The Trail and Promo versions will be notified 96 hours before the start of the race.

  • Windbreaker (mandatory for ULTRA, RELAY and MARATHON versions)
  • Hooded waterproof jacket that can withstand bad weather.
  • RECOMMENDED ITEMS
    • Sunglasses
    • Walking sticks
    • Sunscreen: Total protection.
    • Electrolytes and/or mineral salts.
    • Food reserve: bars, gels, fruit…
    • Mini first-aid kit: With items to treat small wounds, cuts or scrapes.
    • Backpack appropriate for the volume of the equipment and pace of the race.
Clothing
