Chema Martínez confirms its participation in the Volcano UltraMarathon 2020
After running through the desert, the jungle or the Antarctic, the great Spanish long distance runner will now face the volcanoes in the Costa Rican race. A test in self-sufficiency with 200 kilometers spread over 6 stages through the wildest and most unknown areas of Costa Rica.

The Volcano UltraMarathón is pure life. A great adventure that does not want to miss the Chema Martínez fondista. The Spanish athlete is the first international elite rider to confirm his participation in the Volcano UltraMarathon 2020.
The shoes of Chema Martínez accumulate thousands of kilometers and also titles. In his palmares stand out the three medals obtained in the European Championship of 10,000 meters, with a victory in Munich 2002 and two runners-up in Gothenburg 2006 and Barcelona 2010.
He has never stopped moving the passion to run and, although his life as a high level athlete has already passed, he has continued to seek new goals to continue growing. This changed the athletic tracks and the asphalt for the mountain, where he has obtained great results in ultra distance tests.
In this discipline highlights his victory in 2014 in the Grand Slam 4 Deserts, where after a second place in Jordan Chema Martinez found no rival. So he managed to win the triumph in the Gobi March, Atacama Crossing and The Last Desert. Also important was his fourth position in 2016 at the Marathon des Sables or The Coastal Challege; as well as his sixth position in the Ultra Amazonas this July.
At 47 years old, the Spanish athlete puts his goal in a new challenge: the Volcano UltraMarathon. Next month, Chema Martínez will travel to Costa Rica, where he will experience this great adventure among volcanoes.
